My love for the '90s

I didn’t choose to fall in love with the ’90s. It just happened—and it never went away.

I grew up during that time without realizing how special it was. I lived each moment without realizing I was creating memories that would last a lifetime. I was just a kid enjoying what I had: the TV on, the remote in my hand, the street waiting outside.

But over time, I began to understand what made that generation different.

It was a time when fun was physical, collective, and real. We’d meet on the sidewalk without needing to coordinate via cell phone. We’d play ball until dark. We’d make up games out of thin air. And when it rained and we couldn’t go out, there were video games, there was TV—and the programming never disappointed.

Anime arrived and changed everything. Dragon Ball taught us that there are no limits to overcoming challenges. Saint Seiya showed us that friendship is worth more than any battle. Pokémon made us dream of adventures that went beyond our neighborhood. And Rede Manchete was a window into a Japan we had never seen but already loved.

The cartoons of Woody Woodpecker, Bugs Bunny, the Disney gang, and the Hanna-Barbera crew had a soul that’s hard to explain—but those who lived through it, feel it.

Movies were events. Jurassic Park left everyone speechless. The Terminator sent chills down your spine. The Neverending Story made you cry without a shred of shame.

And the games... ah, the games. Each cartridge was a world unto itself. Each level cleared was a real achievement. The 8-bit Nintendo, the Super Nintendo, the Game Boy, the PlayStation—each one holds a special place in my story.

This passion for the ’90s isn’t just nostalgia for the past. It’s gratitude for having grown up in an era that shaped character, sparked creativity, and forged bonds that last to this day.

And that’s exactly why this blog exists—to celebrate all of this with those who also lived through it and have never forgotten. 😊
